Hi my names Rhaim Santiago. I would like to thank you for visiting my profile. I was a product of my environment, being raised in foster and group homes. I've made ample mistakes that I regret and some of those mistakes I'm still learning from today. I never really knew how to express myself in the right way but have found living within this experience, incarceration, that art is a way to meditate as well as to find "release" and be expressive. I never thought I was good until I drew a picture for someone and it made them feel great and extremely happy which, in turn, made me feel good about myself. If art can help me and help someone else, then l'll continue to draw until my fingers cramp and I can draw no more. So I hope you enjoy my work. Check back soon because there is always more to come.

My name is Robert Merrill and I am currently a prisoner in a Texas Department of Corrections. I started drawing early on, and got better and better over time. My inspiration comes from my grandmother, Shirley, who is responsible for it all passing their creativity gift down the family tree. She used to make dolls, I enjoyed watching her, and I'm glad that creativity rubbed off on me. Everything you see mighr appear different to me; where you see an object, I see something I want to make better. It's always been that way.

Drawing is only one of the types of art I do. I also do logos for business, and my favorite is scrapbooking. I creating one-of-a-kind personalized photo albums and enjoy it thoroughly. Creative writing is also interesting to me, and I actually just finished writing the book.

Art comes in many forms not just drawing. If you put your mind to it you can do it. I don't limit myself to categories because, while practice doesn't always make perfect, it does make you better at what you're trying to do.

My family is my motivation in my work, and I strive daily to do better. There is no feeling like taking something out of your head and committing it to paper...whether it's drawing or writing. Art is anything you create no matter how easy or hard it is, so don't worry about what other people think. Life is short but I realize that the work I  leave behind is like a footprint for people to see for years to come. About me: Been down since 1995 at the age of 17, being young and dumb. Now I'm doing life for the awful mistake of robbery/murder. With age comes knowledge, however, and now I work to educate myself whenever possible. I look to better understand myself and this world we live in; my art is the outlet I use to express that side.
